Despite current trail closures: The Lower Oder Valley remains an experience
Due to current measures related to African Swine Fever (ASF) in the Uckermark district, individual trails in the Lower Oder Valley National Park are currently closed. Affected areas include the Wild Forest Trail, the Floodplain Path and parts of the Path of Floodplain Views. Please observe the current visitor notices and follow the designated regulations.
However, there are still many opportunities to discover the special landscape of the national park and its surroundings. The expanse of the Oder floodplain, historic sites, and diverse landscape experiences continue to await visitors.
Stolpe: Combining views, history, and nature
The village of Stolpe is a worthwhile destination with its diverse excursion opportunities. The Stolpe Tower offers an impressive view over the landscape of the Lower Oder Valley. In the surrounding area, the fish ponds and the peaceful atmosphere of the floodplain landscape invite visitors to linger and observe.
Experience the Oder floodplain from the water
A guided canoe tour offers a special perspective. The landscape of the national park can be experienced intensively from the water: past quiet shoreline areas, through the river landscape of the Oder, and with excellent opportunities for nature observation. Booking details can be found HERE.
Hiking on the Märkische Landweg
There are also attractive hiking opportunities outside the closed trails. The Märkische Landweg leads through the diverse landscape of the Uckermark. The route from Criewen toward Schwedt in particular offers impressive views and combines nature experiences with regional history.
Cycling on the Oder-Neisse Cycle Route
The Oder-Neisse Cycle Route is an ideal way to actively explore the region. Along the route, cyclists experience the special landscape between river, floodplains, and small villages—with many opportunities for breaks and discoveries.
A walk through the Valley of Love in Poland
The landscape on the Polish side of the Oder also has much to offer. Those seeking a more relaxed pace will find a special place to unwind in the Valley of Love. The diverse landscape, located directly beyond the Schwedt border crossing, invites visitors to enjoy relaxed walks and brief nature retreats with a unique view of the Lower Oder Valley.
Your visit to the national park
